Decide now what the system does on the day the model is unavailable

A system built on a probabilistic dependency will meet a day when that dependency is slow, degraded or gone. Whether that becomes an outage or an inconvenience is decided in advance, by choosing per feature what happens when the model cannot answer, and by making the degraded state visible rather than silent.
